Pavaneras Street
Located in the heart of Granada between the squares of Isabel la Católica and Padre Suárez, it owes its name to a feminine adornment called “pavana” that women used to wear, especially in the 19th century. On this street, there was a workshop dedicated to making this adornment, which inspired its name. On the odd-numbered side, Father Suárez used to reside, and today this area houses the Historical Archive of the Royal Chancery. On the opposite side, there was the church of the San Francisco convent, which later became a palace and is now the headquarters of MADOC (Training and Doctrine Command), an organization of the Army General Staff. This street is a true historical treasure in the heart of Granada.
