Plaza del Carmen

Located in the heart of the city between Reyes Católicos and Navas streets, it is an emblematic place. On one of its sides stood the old Convent of Carmen, which today houses the City Hall. This convent was organized into two precincts with beautiful cloisters: one known as the “old convent” and the other as the “new convent.” However, after the disentailment, the church and the old convent were demolished, giving rise to the current Plaza del Carmen. What remains of the original construction is the impressive cloister of the new convent.
